At WGC, we follow the policies and guidelines of USA Gymnastics, our sport's governing body. We strive to provide each gymnast with a positive and encouraging atmosphere where they can set and meet goals, learn new skills, perfect current skills, get stronger through conditioning, participate in team building activities, and have FUN! To ensure that our gymnasts are at peak physical condition, we incorporate TOPs (USA Gymnastics Talent Opportunity Program) training in our daily conditioning workouts. All of our team coaches are professional members of USA Gymnastics, and are Safety Certified.
It's Back to Basics at WGC! Strong basics lead to strong optionals! We believe that building strong foundations in our gymnasts are the keys to their long-term success - as well as the answer to injury prevention. Learn more about our philosophies and training methods by stopping by and visiting or by giving us a call! (803) 432-2609

How Do I Get Selected for the Team? Each year in March or April we hold evaluations, using specific criteria, of our enrolled students and then invite students who meet this criteria, to join our competitive team. It is our goal to mold WGC team members from within our gym family. We do, however, accept gymnasts from outside of the gym. We do not encourage the practice of "gym switching", but if there is a situation that cannot be resolved with your current gym (despite best efforts), or you have recently moved to our area, please do not hesitate to give us a call at (803) 432-2609. We are always looking for new talent to enhance our team program!
Parent's Club: WGC has a Parent's Club which was designed to foster unity amongst the team members and parents, and to facilitate fundraisers. Fundraisers help each gymnast raise funds to pay for team-related costs, such as uniforms & meet fees.
Meet Schedule: Team Wateree typically begins competing in November/December through April/May when our season culminates with States and/or Regionals, etc. The number of meets attended varies, and depends upon level and athlete readiness
Interested in joining our team? Call us today! We will arrange a free trial period for you, in addition to an in-depth evaluation.
