Information about our Afterschool Care Program is detailed below. Please call us at 432-2609 or stop by the gym to register. We can accept registrations over the phone with a credit card (we accept Visa/MC), but all forms must be completely filled out prior to your child starting our program.
Please do not wait to register, as spaces will fill quickly! We have only a certain number of spots on our buses, so please
register your child as soon as possible to ensure that they will have a
spot.
As a reminder, we pick up from the following schools:
Camden Elementary, Camden Middle School, Jackson Elementary, The Montessori School of Camden,
Lugoff Elementary, Wateree Elementary & Doby's Mill Elementary. Students from Pine Tree Hill Elementary, Jackson Elementary & Camden Elementary receive busing to our facility from our buses and from the Kershaw County School District. Please call us for more information.
WGC's Afterschool Care Program is open to all school children K5 - 7th grade. Students in our Program will receive structured homework assistance, free time in centers (arts & crafts, computer time, reading, games), supervised gym & fitness time, and a snack each day.
On certain holidays and during our Summer Camp Program, we also offer fun, supervised field trips and other outside activities. For your convenience, we have ongoing enrollment in our Afterschool Care Program.

PROGRAM COSTS:
* Weekly Tuition is $50/child for full-time members. 'Full-time' means that your child comes to our Program M - F for the school-year. Full-time siblings receive a 10% discount on fees. We bill tuition based upon the number of Mondays in each month. All payments are due and will be processed on or before the 1st of each month. Please note that if a holiday or weekend falls before the 1st of the month, we will process your card before the gym closes for the holiday, weekend, etc. You do not get charged for days that the gym is closed, however, you are responsible for full payment for the week in the event of occasional absence due to illness, vacation, etc. (see Closings & Policies below for more details).
* There is a $50 registration fee to enroll in our program for one child, or a $75 registration fee for families (more than one child). This amount is pro-rated throughout the year.
*All full-time members get deeply discounted rates on gymnastics classes! For an additional $20/month (per child/per class), your child can enroll in the class of their choice (excluding Hot Shots, Team & All-Star Cheerleading). *$20 tuition is effective June 1st, 2011
AFTERSCHOOL CARE HOURS: M - F 2:30 - 6:30 p.m. Pick-up after 6:30 p.m. is $1.00/minute.
EXTRA CARE PROGRAM:
We understand that you may require additional care during school breaks, furlough days, holidays, etc. As such, we offer Extra Care during the school-year as follows:
*If your child has a half-day off from school: add an additional $5 to your weekly rate.
*If your child has a full-day off from school: add an additional $10 to your weekly rate.
Extra Care Hours: Half-day: 11:00 - 6:30; Full-day: 7:30 - 6:30
We also offer our Extra Care during Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break and Spring Break in the form of fun-filled camps. If you require Care during these breaks, you MUST register in advance. No shows will be charged.
CAMP COSTS:
Thanksgiving/Christmas Break Camp: the cost is $20/day for full-time aftercare members; $25 day for non-members.
Spring Break Camp: the cost is $100/week for full-time members; $120 for non-members (Dates of Camp set forth above under closings).
PROGRAM CLOSINGS:
WGC follows the KCSD for all weather-related closings, with some exceptions. Please check our website and Facebook Page for up-to-the-minute details as to gym closings.
Otherwise, gym closings are as follows:
*Labor Day (September 7th) *no care/classes this day
*Thanksgiving Break (11/23 - 11/25) *camp is on the 23rd, no care/camp the 24th or 25th
*Martin Luther King Day (January 16th) *no care/camp/classes this day
*Spring Break (April 2nd - April 8th, 2012) *no care/classes. Come to Camp!
*Memorial Day (May 31st, 2012) *no care/camp/classes this day
Our Summer Program begins Monday, June 4, 2012.

AFTERSCHOOL CARE PROGRAM POLICIES:
* Absences/Bus Riding: You must notify us by 1:30 p.m. if your child will not, for any reason, be attending Afterschool Care on a given day. Please remember that we are driving our bus to pick-up your child - if they will not be at school, we do not want to waste valuable pick-up time by either driving to the school (some schools we pick up from only have one child on the bus) or by trying to locate your child. Please note that, with respect to absences from the program, each child is allowed one "free" week off per year - absences from school can count towards that week, as can vacation. The free week will be applied to all students in May, prior to summer enrollment. This week may not be applied towards notice for dropping from the program - it is for currently enrolled students only. If a child is seriously ill, however, please speak with the Owner regarding a billing adjustment. A doctor's note may be required for students who have been absent for more than 3 days.
**NEW POLICY: A charge of $10 will be applied to your account if you do not call your child in absent from bus pick-up! Please avoid this charge by calling the gym prior to 1:30 to inform us that your child will not be on the bus. *this applies to bus riders only*.
* Payment Policy: Each family must enroll in and pay by automatic draft by enrolling at the gym. Tuition is drafted on or about the 1st of each month - this means that if the 1st falls during/after a holiday or weekend, your account WILL BE CHARGED before the gym closes for the holiday/weekend, etc. As a reminder, we base tuition on the number of Mondays in a given month. We do not discount in the event of the occasional illness or vacation day. You do not get charged for the days the gym is closed (example, Thanksgiving Break). If we offer camps and you wish to sign your child up, you would simply pay for the camp.
*Pick-Up Policy: Please provide a list of who may pick-up your child from the program. If you send someone to pick up your child and they are not on the list, your child will not be permitted to leave with that person - so please make sure that your list is always up-to-date.
AFTERSCHOOL CARE STAFF:
Our Afterschool Care Program and Summer Camp Program is directed by Jennifer Piasecki, gym owner. Other members of our staff include: Tiffany, Mary Beth, Wyatt, Brittany, Kaylee & Melissa. Our Afterschool Care Staff love kids! Our managers are CPR certified.
Your child's safety and well-being are our Number One priority. Please do not hesitate to call upon any of our staff regarding questions about our Program.
Be sure to call prior to registering to make sure we have room on the WGC bus for your child. For your child's safety, only members of our Afterschool Care staff drive the bus - no one under the age of 21 is permitted to drive the bus, and all drivers have safe, clean driving records.
*Please note that there is always the chance of a delay when picking your child up from school and bringing them to the facility - traffic, children not waiting at bus pick-up point, etc. We do our best to minimize all delays and ask that you *call us* if your child will not be on the bus on a certain day so that we do not wait unnecessarily for them.
